As a second generation Royal Oak family, we can’t speak highly enough about their programs and staff. After attending Royal Oak’s kindergarten and summer program myself as a child, the choice of where to send our son was a no brainer. During his 3 years at Royal Oak, the education and experiences he has received have helped him grow and develop his academic and social skills. He loves to tell us what he learned with Mr. Potlas and Mrs. Leven each day, practice reading the lunch menu during the ride home, and even gets upset if we pick him up too early. The caring staff and family atmosphere create a place where kids are comfortable, can have fun, and learn at the same time.

This year was our family's first year at Royal Oak and we wish we made the switch sooner! The staff is excellent - they feel like family and truly care about the children. The curriculum is impressive and is undoubtedly preparing them for future success. Our children look forward to going to school everyday and are always telling us how much they "love Royal Oak"!

Royal Oak is one of the best decisions we made for our family. From pre-Kindergarten through Primary Prep, our daughter truly has become part of the Royal Oak family. Academically, she was more than adequately prepared for first grade, and experiencing a full day of kindergarten had her socially prepared, as well. Throughout her time in Primary Prep, she has developed friendships with students and trusting bonds with staff. As parents, we cannot possibly explain the peace of mind that comes with knowing that she is genuinely cared for, by wonderful people, whom she has known for years.

"As a working parent, the logistics of school are an important factor for me in addition to the education, and Royal Oak shines in this regard. Coverage for the full working day, lunch and snacks provided, very reasonable holiday schedule, making every effort to open during snow, implemented safety protocols to be able to open full-time in-person for the 2020-2021 COVID school year and so on. I am so grateful that my kids are able to have such a positive learning experience each day, and I am supported in working while parenting! I look forward to using the "Primary Prep" program to continue some of this support when my child moves on to elementary school."

Royal Oak has been a wonderful foundation for our daughters and we look forward to sending our son there. The staff is helpful to us as parents and respected by our children – not an easy accomplishment! The small classes and home-like environment certainly have made the transition to “big kid school” easier. The curriculum is solid and we love to talk over what the kids have learned every day when we pick them up.

I have been so thankful to be able to send my child to a school with such strong traditional values. It is so comforting to know that the continuously fun play based curriculum makes it easy to learn new things. My son has never expressed such an excitement to go to school and participate. The well varied activities are as structured as they are balanced and it shows in his constant enthusiasm to be a part of the Royal Oak Family. Knowing my son is surrounded by teachers who put love and care into their work is a great comfort. We are so happy you were able to work with us to accommodate our schedule and we look forward to watching our son grow through lessons learned.

Our boys have been at Royal Oak since September 2020 and I can't imagine taking them anywhere else. One of the hardest things about 2020 was trying to find a sense of normalcy within a time of chaos and uncertainty. Having the kids here, together, every day helped that as we struggled to find somewhere that offered a safe and nurturing environment for our Kindergartener and 3yo. After searching for a few months we came across Royal Oak and were amazed at the cost/ class size/curriculum they offered. After checking out the school in person, we knew it was the right place.
All of the staff is warm, welcoming, empathetic, transparent and drop off/pickup is efficient and a breeze. Healthy lunches are provided each day, along with snacks. Royal Oak a large playground that the kids love playing on when it is nice outside and a large open room to run around in when it is raining or too cold to be outside. Along with offering day-to-day activities, they are always doing special things around the holidays for the kids/parents. Most importantly, we don’t have to question what type of care my boys are getting. I know in our absence they are being loved, nurtured, comforted and allowed to grow, learn and explore in a safe, warm and caring environment every day!

My son loves attending Royal Oak, and I have been so happy with his progress in the last two years. I am so pleased with the instruction that he is getting. He loves his teachers and speaks highly of them as well as what they worked on in class for the day. I am grateful that Royal Oak focuses on all aspects of education, including art and making the students well-rounded. We hung my son's art up in our house from the end of last school year and he was over the moon with pride in everything they created. I would highly recommended this school.

Our family moved to Hampton Township four years ago when our daughter was 5 years old. My husband and I both worked full time jobs and the school district only offered half day Kindergarten. Several neighbors and friends suggested we try Royal Oak School. Enrolling our daughter there for full day kindergarten has been one of the best decisions we have made for our daughter’s education, in addition to her socialization. Dropping our daughter off at school every day felt like dropping her off to family. Our daughter is now in 2nd grade and we still utilize Royal Oaks after school, Primary Prep program and we couldn’t be happier.

It's very nice to know that people still care about education and teachers are so willing to give their all. You don't only teach school books but responsibility, care, love, and family importance. I am so pleased that my son attended school at Royal Oak as well as I did 27 years ago. I know that I never forgot my Kindergarten memories with Royal Oak and Uncle Frank. And we will miss you all very much.

From Kindergarten to today, this school has been a wonderful experience for my son. Full-time Kindergarten provided such classes as German and chess. Friends made there have evolved into good friends today at summer camp. I approach each summer knowing that my son will have a fun, safe time with great field trips and the always entertaining talent show. I would recommend this family run facility highly to anyone looking for a good experience for their child.

Our family has attended Royal Oak for two generations and hopes to make it to three! The most amazing part of this story is that Mr. Potlas recognized his former student after 20 years. Perhaps we do not change that much. If the saying "All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten" is true I'm glad my kids went to Royal Oak.

The PreK and Kindergarten programs were phenomenal. When the children went to first grade and were asked if they knew their colors, they asked the teacher if she wanted the answer in English or Spanish. I've recommended Royal Oak to many family and friends because I believe it was the best thing we did for our kids at that age.

"Dad, is it a school day today? It is? Yea ... cool." That says it all about Royal Oak. A creative, fun environment where children love to learn. The dedication of the staff is unparalleled and it shows in the attention given to each child. From Nursery school through Kindergarten the values of education are taught that children will carry with them for years.

Both of my children attended Royal Oak school for Nursery, Pre-K, and Kindergarten. Even though there is a 12 year difference in my children, they were both fortunate enough to have many of the same teachers. We loved the continuity of the program, and feel that they both received a great foundation for their future school years.

Enrolling our children in Royal Oak was one of the best decisions we have made. Royal Oak is a very welcoming, kind, respectful and amazing place for our children to experience life. Our children are encouraged constantly but limits and expectations are also an important constant. Our children are definitely learning wonderful things about themselves and the world beyond!

We have been nothing but pleased with Royal Oak. Our daughter has always been quiet and shy. Royal Oak has brought her out of her shyness in so many ways. The whole staff is a wonderful group of people. We only wish Royal Oak would extend its program into higher grades. It was the best decision we could have made for our daughter.

What a wonderful experience for both my child and myself. I feel my child is prepared for her next academic step; first grade. I have had a child go through the public school system (Kindergarten) and feel that Royal Oak prepared my daughter far better than the public school did with my son for first grade. Thank you Royal Oak.
